NUG claims that the military council's ceasefire announcement a hoax

Following the military council's declaration of a ceasefire, airstrikes targeted certain regions in Taungtha and Homalin townships, along with a military operation in the villages of Nyaung Oo township. The government of national unity (Ministry of Defense) stated that the military council's ceasefire declaration was a deception.

The junta troops struck Thae Taw village in Taungtha township, Myingyan district, Mandalay region, at approximately 2:00 am on April 3, utilizing three paramotors and releasing eight 120mm bombs.

The NUG reported that the airstrike damaged Ye Kyaw Secondary School and a communal building to the east of Thae Taw village, near the Taungtha and Kyauk Padaung highway.

Likewise, on April 3, at approximately 9:30 am, the terrorist Junta army's MI-2 multi-purpose helicopter, launched from the Homalin Air Force Base, struck the villages of Pha Nai, San Saeng, Pay Not Sut, and Shwe Maw in Sagaing Region, Homalin District, Homalin Township, releasing 13 bombs, with no combat occurring in the places.

Moreover, according to a press release from the NUG, on April 3, at approximately 6 am, the terrorist junta forces advanced with two tanks from the Nga Tha Yoke police station and fired multiple weapons, including point- five machine guns, at public houses along the road in various villages such as Myat Thant Taung, Mau Bin, and Kya O in the Nyaung U Township of Mandalay Region.

The military column of 600 troops has been raiding villages in the area between Nyaung U and Chauk Townships since March 20, setting fire to public buildings, detaining local inhabitants, and stealing public assets, which has compelled around 20,000 residents to escape.

The NUG also noted that the military council announced a ceasefire; however, it is actually still carrying out airstrikes and ground offensives and incursions.
