Daai Local Council Announces New Governance in Daai Territories Southern Chin State

The Daai Local Council has announced plans to reorganize the territories inhabited by the Daai ethnic group in four southern Chin State townships and establish a local governance system.

The Daai Council also announced its intention to collaborate and fight alongside all revolutionary forces that share the goal of uprooting the military dictatorship and establishing a federal democracy On May 16 and 17, the first Daai regional public conference was successfully held

in a Daai territory, where participants agreed to draft constitutional principles for organizing and governing the areas predominantly inhabited by the Daai ethnic groups in Kanpetlet, Matupi, Mindat, and Paletwa. On May 29, the Daai Local Council was formed as the first step toward achieving this goal.

All Daai territories in the four townships, which have been separately governed for ages, will be regrouped under the leadership of the Daai Local Council and operated under a single administrative system.

To address future defense and security needs in the newly emerging Daai region, local resistance forces in the four townships have agreed to form the Chinaland Defense Force - Daai (CDF-Daai). The Daai Local Council will seek to meet and negotiate with organizations from neighboring townships and resistance forces to address other needs.

It has proclaimed its commitment to unifying all Chin ethnic groups, establishing Chin State without bias, and fighting alongside all Chin resistance forces.

The first Daai regional public conference was attended by over 200 people, including representatives from Daai villages in the four townships, People's Administrative Teams (PATs), resistance forces, special invitees, and observers.

The Daai Local Council and CDF-Daai are also part of the Chinland Council.
