Arakan Army Confirms Successful Seizure of Hnonebu Military Base in Paletwa

The Arakan Army (AA) has officially confirmed the complete capture of the Junta’s  Hnonebu tactical operation command base in Paletwa Township, which occurred at 11:45 PM on December 10th.

AA's statement reveals that the strategically important base also yielded a substantial quantity of weapons and ammunition. The bodies of the base commander and several other Junta troops were discovered.

Both heavily fortified bases in Paletwa have now been seized by AA. Prior to Hnonebu, the Tarunaing tactical operation command base close to the India/ Bangladesh border, was also recently taken by AA.

The AA initiated an attack on that base on November 14th, and after a 21-day operation, it was brought under control on December 4th. In less than a week, the AA successfully occupied Hnonebu as well.

The operation to capture the Hnonebu base commenced at 9:25 AM on November 14th, and the mission was successfully accomplished after 27 days.

Despite facing fierce resistance from the enemy through relentless airstrikes and shelling during their offensive conducted without a day's rest, AA ultimately succeeded in capturing the strategically important hill-based camp.

Whereas the junta has total domination over airspace, which has usually been effective in curbing the advance of the revolutionary offensives in other ethnic states, it is significant that the AA was able to overcome their lack of anti- aircraft weapons. However there is no report on how many casualties they suffered during the 27 day campaign, but AA has acknowledged of a number of fallen comrades.

Ongoing skirmishes persist as AA conducts operations to seize the remaining small military outposts in the region and eliminate the remnants of the Military Council's troops.

AA also expressed its profound acknowledgment for the Arakan martyrs who sacrificed their lives and blood, as well as the courageous warriors who fought with unwavering valor during the operation to capture the Hnonebu base, which inflicted prolonged suffering and hardships on the local populace. The contributions of the fallen comrades will be sincerely honored and duly recorded, as announced by AA.
