Chin Resistance Launched New Public Administration for captured town on India-Myanmar Border

The Chin National Front (CNF/CNA) and CDF-Hualngoram are jointly establishing a public administration in Rikhawdar Township, under the control of the Chin defense joint forces, along the India-Myanmar border in northern Chin State, according to CNF/CAN sources.

Salai Htet Ni, spokesperson for the Chin National Front (CNF/CNA) reported that, "Nearly all individuals who evacuated from Rikhawdar due to the conflict, have safely returned. We have conducted mine clearance operations for the residents, and we are engaged in discussions with local organizations to ensure the stability of public administration."

As of November 22, just 10 days after taking control of the town, CNF/CNA and CDF-Hualngoram are actively engaged in the ongoing implementation of public administration in Rikhawdar Township. The development of this administration, driven by the residents themselves, is geared towards fostering India-Myanmar border trade, ensuring public security, and promoting regional stability.

On November 13, CNF/CNA, CDF-Zanniatram, PDA-Tedim, CDF-Thantlang, and CDF- Hualngoram captured two Military Council camps situated in Rikhawdar Township on the No. 2 trade route along the India-Myanmar border, and asserted control over the entire town.

The Chin National Front (CNF/CNA) released a statement extending heartfelt gratitude to the Indian central government, the Mizoram state government, and the local people and organizations in Mizoram for their help in solving social issues for displaced individuals, injured comrades, and people affected during the battle.

The battle over Rikhawdar town known as "Rih Operation," was spearheaded by Chief of Staff of the CNA, Brigadier General Ngun Hlei Thang himself. Throughout the conflict, 5 CNA/CNF comrades and 1 PDA comrade were killed, and over 10 other comrades sustained injuries.

7 Military Council troops, including a major, surrendered, and over 40 soldiers fled to the Indian side of the border.
