ABSDF Suspends 3 Members Who Defied Party Policy Not to Attend 8th NCA Ceremony

U Myo Win, the vice-chairman of the All  Burma Students' Democratic Front (ABSDF), and two members who participated in the eighth-anniversary ceremony of the National Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) hosted by the Military Council, have been suspended from their duties.

The statement of the ABSDF Central Committee announced that the three ABSDF members have been suspended from their political and military duties. This action was taken because they were found to have attended the NCA eighth-anniversary ceremony against the principles, attitudes, and positions established by the ABSDF, and solely based on their own volition.

The statement further advised them to refrain from pursuing actions that contradict the principles and positions of the All Burma Students' Democratic Front (ABSDF).

On October 16, the ABSDF Central Committee announced the termination of three individuals, including U Myo Win, from their political and military responsibilities.

"The three comrades who attended the eighth-anniversary event of the NCA, which was organized illegally by the Military Council and not in alignment with the party or organization's stance, but rather of their own choice, have been suspended from their political and military responsibilities," ABSDF spokesperson Comrade Sonny informed Narinjara.

Comrade Sonny confirmed that the three individuals who were suspended from their duties for attending the ceremony were ABSDF Vice Chairman Comrade Myo Win, Divisional Commander Comrade Min Zaw, and Comrade Saw Maung Maung Oo.

Founded in 1988, the ABSDF joined in signing the NCA in 2015. However on October 12th the ABSDF, CNF, and KNU jointly released a statement stating that they consider the NCA null and void due to actions by the Military Council and have decided not to attend the NCA's eight-year anniversary ceremony.
