Chin State — Junta troops have been conducting a series of arbitrary arrests of civilians. Over the past month, 60 civilians were taken into custody, of which 50 have been released, while 10 individuals remain detained.

On October 1, CDF-Mindat reported that during the month of September, the Military Council arrested 60 civilians from six different locations in Mindat Township, and 10 individuals from Bawa Thit Ward, A Shay Pyin Ward, and A Nauk Pyin Ward in the urban area have not yet been released.

A resident of Mindat pointed out that, in addition to the ongoing issues of water and electricity shortages in the urban area of Mindat Township, the Military Council's threats to civilians have created a situation where many people may opt to leave the town in search of safer places.

 The town will become noticeably quieter than it used to be. A resident of Mindat shared

"In the absence of water and electricity, a substantial number of residents are likely to leave the town due to security concerns. Mindat town has become noticeably quieter. The Military Council needs to differentiate between the enemy and the civilian population. If the town loses its residents, it will essentially become a battleground for just two armed groups.” That's my perspective," shared a resident of Mindat.

Mindat residents are fleeing the conflict, seeking refuge in various locations. Some are forced to live in the forests and mountains, while others remain in the town. Some have sought shelter in churches and monasteries for safety.

In the month of September, Military Council troops and CDF-Mindat engaged in clashes at four different locations within the town. As a result, four soldiers from the Military Council were killed, and nine were injured. On the CDF-Mindat side, one comrade was killed, and another was wounded.

On September 29, in Mindat Township, Military Council troops indiscriminately fired artillery shells toward Circuit-2, resulting in injuries to two civilians.
