The Chin Ceasefire Monitoring Team (CCMT) clarified 51 points of agreement between the government and the Chin National Front (CNF) on 28 April in Hakha, Chin State, western Myanmar.

Lal Uk the Chairman of the CCMT and Tluang Ceu the Secretary of CCMT led the discussions at the meeting.

Participants from the government side were: Col. Zaw Min Oo, Minister of Chin state Border Affairs Security; U Myint Lwin, Superintendent of Chin State; Maj. Yaza Hla Nyunt of the Hakha based Light Infantry Battalion (IB) 266; Maj. Wai Lin Oo; Maj. Myint Zaw Htet from Military Affairs Security and Maj. Thant Zin Oo.

Participants from the Chin National Front were: General Secretary (3), Pu Kwa Uk Lian; Col. Solomon; Lt. Col. Biak Lain and Sang Lian Thang; the Thantlang Deputy Liaison Officer Pu Bil Cung; and the Matupi Deputy Liaison Officer Pu Mang Lai.

A survey by the CCMT on ceasefire violations showed that the CNF had violated the ceasefire four times whilst the government had violated it 10 times.

The government violations were when its troops had entered the CNF base camp area.

Pu Bil Cung,  the Thantlang Deputy Liaison Officer said that the entry of government military troops into the CNF base camp without prior information was a  violation of the agreement that the government had undertaken.

In this regard, Col. Zaw Min U, Minister of Border Security clarified that although it was a violation of the agreement, it could not harm the peace process. He said military personnel were not entering of their own volition but on the order of higher authorities, so it should be discussed with those higher authorities.

This was the first meeting between the government and the CNF to discuss ceasefire violations, it was organised by the CCMT.
