17 People on Trial for Arakan Army Connections

Seventeen people from the townships of Minbya, Rathedaung, and Kyauktaw in Arakan State were put on trial on 4 May, accused of being involved with the Arakan Army (AA) and remanded in custody.

The head of Kyauktaw Township Police Station said: “The court remanded them in the custody of the army who want to make further investigations.”

The 17 defendants were sent to Kyauktaw Township on 2 May and they are being held in custody at Kyauktaw Police Station for questioning.
