Govt. announced armed clashed with Arakan Army in Kyauktaw

Government officially announced its armed forces have clashed with Arakan Army (AA) in Kyauktaw Township, Arakan state in Burma on April 17, 2015.

In the official announcement released on April 18, government army columns had clashed with AA troops near Pinlon village in the morning and again near Aung-Lan-Chaung village in the evening in Kyauktaw Township on April 17 while they were patrolling to keep hold of the area for safety.

Then, AA troops retreated to the northern part of the Arakan state, according to the statement.

During the armed clashes, government army seized two backpacks, 120,000 Kyats, one iPad, one Huawei mobile phone, one compass, one mess kit, and three civilian shirts, says in its announcement.

The latest armed clashes were occurred near Pinlon, Sapar-Seik, and Aung-Lan-Chaung villages located 14 miles away from north of Kyauktaw town.
