NLD Wins Chin Affairs Minister In Sagaing Region

Moe Kyaw — National League for Democracy (NLD) candidate Pu Lal Thawn Thang has beat six rival candidates by a long margin for Chin Affairs Minister position in Sagaing Region.

The Township Election Commission announced that the NLD won in all constituencies in Kalay Township.

Pu Lal Thawn Thang took the position from incumbent Pu No Than Kap, chairman of the Chin Progressive Party (CPP), by over 15,000 votes.

According to the Kalay Township Election Commission Pu Lal Thawn Thang got the lion’s share with 26,549 votes while closest rival Pu No Than Kap, the previous Chin Affairs Minister, finished with 10,929 votes.

The other parties’ candidates were Pu Khua Tio, Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP); Pu Kam Cin Dal, Chin National Democratic Party (CNDP); Pu Lian Nawn, Chin League for Democracy (CLD); Pu En Kan Gu, Zomi Congress for Democracy (ZCD); and Pu Thawng Za Pau, National Unity Party (NUP).
