Mro National Democracy Party To Contest 4 Seats In Arakan State

San Maung Than, Narinjara News — The Mro National Democracy Party (MNDP), will be contesting four seats in Arakan seat in the upcoming election, the party’s secretary U Soe Naung also known as U Htay Win, tells Narinjara News.

“We are running for a total of four seats. A seat in the State Parliament Constituency No 1 and a seat in the Upper House in Kyauktaw Township and seats in Mrauk U Township in both the lower and upper houses ” U Htay Win told Narinjara News.
The MNDP's policies are geared towards building democracy, helping youth and promoting regional development.

The party kicked off their campaign on September 12th. Since launching their campaign last month the party has visited Pichaung and western parts of Kyauktaw Township. The party's campaign will continue in Meinchaung this month.

Party officials claim that the MNDP has received strong support from the Mro people. “The message we want to give to our Mro people for the 2015 Election is that we are standing indivisibly with the public for the development of our people and state,” U Htay Win added.

Around 100,000 Mro people live across Arakan State in Kyauktaw Township, Mrauk U Township, Minbya Township, Pauktaw Township, Buthidaung Township, Maungdaw Township, and Laymyoechaung.
